DEARBORN CO., Ind. — A 19-year-old died after a car struck a disabled vehicle along East State Road 350, according to a public information officer with the Indiana State Police.

The crash happened around 6 a.m., according to state police. 19-year-old Trent Laudermilt was driving a 2003 Chevrolet truck eastbound on East State Road 350 near Aurora when the truck hit an unoccupied 2008 Chevrolet truck that was disabled along the road.

Laudermilt's truck then struck a guardrail and went down a nearby embankment. State police say the truck’s passenger, 19-year-old Jeffrey Cole, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Laudermilt was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

State Road 350 was closed for more than four hours while crews investigated and cleaned up the crash, according to state police.

Police say neither Laudermilt nor Cole were wearing seatbelts. A toxicology test was conducted on Laudermilt, but results are still pending.

The incident is still under investigation.
