FLORENCE, Ind. — A Monday night crash outside the Belterra Casino claimed the life of a pedestrian who had been walking across the highway, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

The victim, 47-year-old Ohioan Robert Loughry, had been among a group of four people attempting to cross State Road 156 and reach an overflow parking lot for the casino. He died at the scene.

Police did not announce charges against the driver who struck him but wrote they were conducting toxicology tests on both men.
