Indiana cancels silver alert after missing Richmond man was located

RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Wayne County Sheriff canceled a silver alert after a missing Richmond man was found Tuesday morning.

Deputies were investigating the disappearance of George W. Surber, a 79-year-old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds. Surber has short gray hair and blue eyes and wears glasses.

Surber was last seen wearing a short-sleeved polo shirt, a ball cap, silver watch and ring. He has a tattoo on his left arm with the letters USMS displayed.

Surber was last seen around 5 p.m. Monday in Richmond and was believed to be in danger since he may have been disoriented and required medical attention. He was believed to be traveling in a 1998 Red Dodge pickup truck with license plate TK584MHE.
