RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. -- A former high school assistant basketball coach will plead guilty to sex charges Friday, according to Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney Ric Hertel.

Chad Pindell, the former assistant coach at Jac-Cen-Del High School, will plead guilty at 11 a.m. to a “sex offense involving a player.”

Pindell, of Napoleon, Indiana, stands charged with child seduction and dissemination of harmful material to a minor. Both are felony counts.

Investigators allege Pindell contacted a 17-year-old student through social media in early 2018 and sent her the nude photos. At some point, he and the girl engaged in sexual activity while at Jac-Cen-Del High, ISP said.

The district removed Pindell from his position when it found out about the allegations.

Pindell was booked into the Ripley County Jail in March 2018.

WCPO will update this story.
