LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. -- A 44-year-old Aurora man is accused of performing sex acts on a child and documenting the event.

Lawrenceburg officers said the cause was launched when they were called to a home on Pribble Circle in response to a child molestation allegation.

A woman at the home claimed Steven Rekowski had abused her four-year-old daughter and that she had photographs to prove it.

The woman had locked Rekowski in her laundry room until police arrived.

Investigators said they later learned that a friend of the woman had found the photos of the alleged abuse on his cellphone.

Stephanie Weaver told police that she was using Rekowski’s cellphone when she found an email that contained five photos of Rekowski performing sex acts on the child.

After confronting Rekowski, Weaver said she told the child’s mother. The mother told investigators that she believes the abuse happened while Rekowski had babysat the girl.

Investigators said Rekowski later admitted to taking the photos while in custody.

Dearborn County officials said Rekowski is charged with two counts of child molesting and one count of child exploitation. Both charges are felonies.

No other details have been released.
