OWEN COUNTY, Ky. -- Kentucky State Police need the public’s help identifying a cold case murder victim from 1988.

Authorities said a woman was found dead “in a rural area laying close to a roadway.” It's not clear where or when authorities found her body.

Due to decomposition, the victim was never identified, but now investigators have a composite photo of what the victim may have looked like at the time of her death.

Authorities also said they have new information that suggests the victim could have had connections to the Columbus, Ohio, and/or the Miami, Florida, areas.

If you have any information that could help identify the woman, contact Detective Johnson with Kentucky State Police Post 5 at 502-532-6363.

WCPO has reached out to Kentucky State Police and will update this story as more information becomes available.
