FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind -- A 15-year-old was killed and four others were injured in a crash Monday, according to Indiana State Police.

Bryce L. Hizer, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s office. Hizer lived in Oxford and was a freshman at Talawanda High School, according to the Journal-News.

Three more passengers -- two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old -- all sustained serious injuries, police said.

An 18-year-old was driving eastbound on Oxford Pike at Dorrel Road in a red 2000 Pontiac when he lost control of the vehicle, according to police. The vehicle rolled into trees and overturned, ejecting the driver.

First responders transported the driver and two teenagers via medical helicopter to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, police said. The other teen was transported to Fort Hamilton Hospital.

Authorities do not believe alcohol and drugs were factors in the crash. Toxicology results are pending.

It’s not clear whether the driver will face charges. Indiana State Police are investigating the crash.
