WALTON, Ky. — After reports of a baby found unresponsive in a bathtub brought emergency crews to a home on Old Stephenson Mill Road Sunday night, police say the baby will be fine.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said a 1-year-old and 3-year-old were in the bathtub while it filled when their mother stepped to transfer some clothes from their washer to the dryer. When the mother returned the 1-year-old was reportedly found face down in the water and unresponsive.

The mother took the baby to a neighbor's house to dial 911, and a neighbor performed CPR on the baby until an ambulance arrived. The baby was then flown to University Hospital in Cincinnati.

After arriving at the hospital, the baby was alert and breathing, but was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for overnight observation. After investigating, detectives said the baby was not injured and is expected to be released from the hospital.
