Kentucky State Police investigating fatal July 4 house fire in Carroll Co.

GHENT, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal house fire in Carroll County that left one woman dead over the weekend.

Police said the fire occurred just after 3 p.m. on Saturday at 202 Fishing Lane in Ghent, Kentucky. The Ghent Fire Department extinguished the blaze and found a woman dead inside.

Police identified the victim as 45-year-old Constance Beal of Ghent.

A 74-year-old woman inside the home was transported by helicopter to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A man inside the residence at the time was able to escape the blaze without injury.

Police do not expect foul play, though the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The investigation remains ongoing.
