FALMOUTH, Ky. -- The Pendleton County seat will be looking for a new police chief as Falmouth Police Chief Benny Johnson was fired Wednesday night.
No official reason has been given, according to Falmouth Police Officer Shaun Seger. The acting chief in Johnson's absence will likely be Sgt. Greg Spaulding.
Johnson took over as chief less than one year ago after former chief Mark Posey was arrested and charged with abuse of public trust for stealing more than $10,000 in funds from a drug task force account and forging checks from the city of Falmouth.
