OWENTON, Ky. - A 2-year-old boy died Sunday evening when an ATV carrying him overturned, according to Kentucky State Police.
Spencer Lawson, 27 of Owenton, had two passengers in the vehicle when it overturned at Greenup Road and Georgetown Road at about 7:30 p.m.
Owen County medics took the boy and Lawson's girlfriend, Cheyanne Fredrick, 24, of Corinth, to St. Elizabeth for treatment. Fredrick suffered serious injuries, and the Owen County coroner pronounced the boy dead.
Lawson was a relative of the boy's, KSP said.
KSP continues to investigate and is awaiting toxicology results for Lawson.
