Kentucky State Police investigating 'murder' in Falmouth

FALMOUTH, Ky. — Authorities are conducting a murder investigation in Falmouth, according to Trooper Charlie Loudermilk.

Kentucky State Police believe that 31-year-old Christopher R. Powell, of Georgetown, was fatally injured in the area of Second Street in Falmouth, they said in a news release.

Pendleton County Dispatch called Kentucky State Police at about 1:23 p.m. Sunday after EMS drove Powell to Harrison County Memorial Hospital. Powell was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

Authorities didn't specify how Powell was injured.

Troopers asked anyone with information that could be linked to Powell's death to call Kentucky State Police at 859-428-1212.
