CINCINNATI -- A teenage driver led a trooper on a brief pursuit early Thursday morning before crashing into a tree, injuring herself and two passengers, according to Cincinnati police.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper noticed a driver speeding in a minivan at about 1:45 a.m. on Beechmont Avenue, police said. A brief pursuit ensued, and the trooper saw the driver crash into a tree on Linwood Avenue. Authorities estimate the driver was traveling at about 85 mph.

First responders transported the teen driver and two teenage passengers to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, police said. Their injuries were not life threatening.

The identities of the driver and the passengers have not been released.

Authorities closed Linwood Avenue at Tweed Avenue for a couple hours while they investigated. The road reopened at about 3:30 a.m.
