CINCINNATI — One person was shot and killed in Over-the-Rhine on Saturday night, according to sergeant Eric A. Vogelpohl.

The shooting happened at about 10:40 p.m. near Back and Hamer Streets. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Dondre Kelsor.

Assistant chief Paul Neudigate said there was a large crowd near the scene but that they were not protesters. The crowd prevented first responders from getting to the shooting victim quickly, Neudigate said.

The shooting happened about 20 minutes before curfew went into effect. Sgt. Eric Franz said officers would announce on PAs that curfew was in effect at 11 p.m. in an effort to “get compliance without making arrests.”

The investigation by the CPD's Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.
