In federal court Monday, prosecutors alleged that a man who ran into the unlocked White House front door after jumping a fence Friday posed a threat to President Obama.

Omar Jose Gonzalez, 42, formerly of Copperas Cove, Tex., was found to have 800 rounds of ammunition, two hatchets and one machete in his car, which was parked blocks away, according to the Associated Press.

Gonzalez appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge John M. Facciola on a charge of unlawfully entering a restricted building or grounds while carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon.

Facciola ordered Gonzalez held until Oct. 1, pending revocation of bond by authorities in an unrelated July 19 incident in Wythe County, Va.

In the July 19 incident, he was arrested while carrying a sawed-off shotgun and a map of the Washington area with the White House circled.

Gonzalez was also stopped and questioned by Secret Service officers who spotted him carrying a hatchet in the back waistband of his pants along the south fence of the White House, according to the AP.

The Secret Service has beefed up security in light of this and other attempted breaches, according to CNN.
