Pope Francis is in New York today.
The 78-year-old Argentine known as the "slum pope" for ministering to the downtrodden in his native Buenos Aires is urging America to take better care of the environment and the poor and return to its founding ideals of religious liberty and open arms toward immigrants.
8 a.m.: Visit to the United Nations and Address to the United Nations General Assembly
11 a.m.: Multi-religious service at 9/11 Memorial and Museum, World Trade Center
4 p.m.: Visit to Our Lady Queen of Angels School, East Harlem
5 p.m.: Procession through Central Park
6 p.m.: Mass at Madison Square Garden
