Michael Avenatti, the famed lawyer who represented Stormy Daniels in a lawsuit against President Donald Trump and who at one point contemplated a run for president, may be in more legal trouble.

According to reporters from CNN and the Los Angeles Times, Avenatti will be named in a 36-count indictment filed by the Justice Department and the IRS. The charges will be announced at 12 p.m. ET on Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Avenatti will face charges in the indictment.

In March, Avenatti was arrested and charged after investigators say he attempted to extort $20 million from Nike on the threat of releasing damaging information against the company. That same day, he was charged in an unrelated case on wire fraud and bank fraud charges in California.
