Here's a solution for Northside residents fed up with drivers speeding through their streets.

A hair dryer-wielding grandmother is singlehandedly slowing speeding drivers in their tracks in Hucknall, England, as they mistake her hair dryer for radar speed gun.

Watch the video below to see Jean Brooks in action.

"People come up to me and hug me and say 'thank you for making the street safer'," 63-year-old Jean Brooks told the BBC. "As far as the local school kids are concerned, I'm a national hero. ... If the traffic slows down, nobody's going to get hurt. I've already got a cat that's only got three legs because he didn't know his green cross code."

Her viral fame even enticed hitchhiker Bartek Zabel of Hamburg, Germany, to turn up on Brooks' doorstep with a gift after seeing her on video.

"It's brilliant because you don't need expensive equipment to slow the drivers down," Zabel said. "I just had to visit her because she's like a local hero and like a celebrity."
