CINCINNATI – A 9-year-old Prince fan got her dream-come-true to see her favorite singer at a "Purple Rain Tour" concert at Riverfront Coliseum in January, 1985.
Kristin Osborne of Thelma, Kentucky, was wearing a "Prince" button on her sweater and holding her sleeping puppy in her lap while counting down the minutes to the show.
She was hoping for a chance to meet the superstar after Make A Wish Foundation got tickets for her, but she didn't know what she might say to him. Then she thought of something.
"I'd ask him if he had a dog," she said.
Kristin suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. Make A Wish was even sending her in a limo.
"She dreamed of going to see him since her hospitalization last November," her mom said.
"The limo was just the icing on the cake," said her dad. "We couldn't really believe that they had granted our wish."
Prince, who died Thursday at the age of 57,played a three-night stand at the Coliseum in 1985. A few months earlier, he played a secret "Purple Rain" pre-release show to a small audience at Bogart's in November, 1984.
