LEBANON, Ohio – A Springboro teenager was found guilty of rape Tuesday, Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said in a news release.

The rape occurred after a Springboro High School football game in September, Fornshell said. Several students went to a party at the house of a teen whose mom was out of town.

By about 2 a.m., the 14-year-old victim was “extraordinarily intoxicated” and unable to speak or stand up without assistance, according to Fornshell. Another 14-year-old led her into the living room with the encouragement of other male guests and “committed sexual conduct with her, all of them knowing that her ability to resist or consent was substantially impaired.”

“If you’re the parent of a teenage daughter, this is your worst nightmare,” Fornshell said. “We have to change the mindset of all young men in our society that engaging in sexual conduct with an extraordinarily intoxicated young woman who is clearly unable to consent is not ‘cool’. It’s not an ‘easy target’ for a sexual conquest. It is rape.”

Warren County Juvenile Court Judge Joseph Kirby called the incident “a compelling story as to why underage alcohol parties are never a good idea” in his decision.

A disposition for the juvenile defendant, who officials did not name, was set for Feb. 3.
