CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The bull that escaped from its enclosure in Clearcreek Township last month was discovered and shot dead Thursday night, police said.

According to Clearcreek Township Police Chief John Terrill, officers encountered the animal but could not get close enough to tranquilize it.

Due to the threat the animal posed to the surrounding residents, officers decided to shoot and kill the bull, Terrill said.

The bull, bred for rodeo bucking, escaped June 22 from Fox Hollow Rodeo on E. State Route 73 near Patricia Allyn Park.
