WASHINGTON TWP., Ohio — The Lebanon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred near Washington Township at around 12:20 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Police said 72-year-old Lawrence W. Latham was traveling east on State Route 350 on a Suzuki motorcycle when he drove off the side of the road, crashing into a ditch.
He was ejected off the motorcycle, according to police, and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Latham was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, and there is no word as to whether impairment or speed played a factor in the crash.
