LEBANON, Ohio – One woman died Tuesday evening after crashing her car into a utility pole just east of Lebanon. Alcohol and speed appear to be a factor, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Preliminary investigations revealed Sharon G. Beckett, 55, of Lebanon, was traveling westbound on Wilmington Road in her 2003 Ford Taurus. Police said she drove off the left side of the road and struck the pole around 7:43 p.m. near Liberty-Keuter Road.
Beckett was pronounced dead at the scene. She had not been wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
