LEBANON, Ohio – A judge is considering which evidence to allow in a Warren County cold case murder trial.

An Arizona man, Sam Perone, was charged last year with killing a rival furniture store salesman, Richard Woods, back in 1992.

Perone used to live in Lebanon before moving to Arizona several years ago.

One of the main issues lawyers argued about Wednesday was whether wire taps of Perone’s Arizona home will be admissible as evidence in the trial.

Also, the defense is looking for more information about documents shared between investigators from Tennessee and Warren County involving a truck driver who was convicted of killing several women around the time Woods was killed.

The defense has also moved to throw out DNA evidence, but that issue was not heard Wednesday.

The trial is scheduled to begin June 20.
