HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A 71-year-old woman who went missing overnight was found safe Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hamilton Township Police Department.

"Thank you to everyone who provided assistance!" the department wrote on Facebook around 2 p.m. The post did not detail the circumstances of her brief disappearance or share where she had been found.

Carolyn S. Moore, known to her friends as "Sue" and described by her children as quiet and kind, left her home in Hamilton Township for a ride on the Little Miami Scenic Trail Tuesday afternoon. It spans 78 miles between Anderson Township and Springfield, Ohio. Police said they aren't sure whether she made it to the trail.

Friends and family were out searching early Wednesday. They said she often rode her bike at night, but her continued absence into the morning had them worried.

“She’s a wonderful lady -- just a quiet, loving person who people really connect with, and therefore they’re pouring their hearts out to help her," her husband Jim Moore said.

Texas Equisearch assisted with search efforts, and police called in agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations as a procedural measure.
