FRANKLIN, Ohio — A Warren County Tactical Response team busted a motel room door Saturday after an armed suspect refused to come out, the Journal-News reported.
Franklin police and the county tactical response team responded around 1 p.m. to the Econo Lodge, 251 Conover Drive, to arrest 24-year-old Eastton Pearson of Middletown on a felonious assault warrant after Middletown police detectives said he was staying in room 138, said Franklin police Sgt. Troy Wolf.
According to the Middletown Division of Police, Pearson was believed to be armed with a Glock handgun and had a history of crimes involving weapons and violence. Wolf said because of the active warrants and criminal history, the tactical response team was called to apprehend Pearson.
The county tactics team broke the door open with a ram and took Pearson and his 17-year-old girlfriend into custody after they were not able to open negotiations with them.
Franklin police did not charge the suspects, and handed the couple over to Middletown police detectives.
The arrest warrant for Pearson was issued Sept. 4 in Middletown for felonious assault and two gun charges stemming from a Sept. 2 incident, online Middletown Municipal Court records show. Pearson is now held at the Middletown City Jail.
