CINCINNATI — Now that Labor Day is over, it’s full speed ahead for many retailers in the Tri-State.

Stores like Kohl’s and Toys ‘R Us are gearing up to hire seasonal staff to deal with those large shopping crowds out to buy the perfect Christmas gifts.

Toys ‘R Us is looking to hire 40,000 people nationwide. That number is down by about 5,000 compared to last year. On the upside though, those people who are hired at the toy store chain can expect more hours for those seeking the extra work.

Kohl’s is looking to beef up its workforce by about 69,000 employees.

Even UPS plans to hire about 90,000 extra workers in the coming weeks. Positions for seasonal hires vary the shipping giant. Some openings are full time, while others are part-time gigs. UPS says some of those hires could potentially become regular, full-time jobs.

Here’s a run down of where to apply for the seasonal work at each retailer.
