INDEPENDENCE, Ky. — A Kenton County man is in jail after firing at officers during an attempted home break-in Thursday morning.
Kentucky Sate Trooper Cory Elliott told WCPO that Independence police responded to a call for an attempted break in at the 10,000 block of Kelsey Drive in Independence around 1:30 a.m.
Officers arrived on the scene and exchanged fire with a Jordan Sullivan, 36, who was allegedly attempting to break into his mother's home, Elliott said. Sullivan was taken into custody after shooting at the officers and is being held at the Kenton County Detention center.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the exchange.
