WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Two Harrison teenagers and a 12-year-old were injured in a rollover car crash Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, a 16-year-old girl, was traveling with two boys — one 15 years old, the other 12 — on Morgan Road in Whitewater Township.

Police said the driver lost control of her vehicle while cresting a hill, then swerved to avoid an oncoming car. Her car spun off the road, rolled over and struck a tree on the side of the road.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle by herself and is currently listed in good condition at Children’s Hospital, police said, but her two passengers had to be removed from the wreck by the Whitewater and Miami Township Fire Departments.

The 15-year-old boy was flown to University Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Monday night. Miami Township Fire Department volunteers took the 12-year-old passenger to Children’s Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said they did not believe alcohol or drugs were facts in the crash, and all occupants were wearing seatbelts when the car spun off the road. Instead, police said they believed speed contributed to the wreck.

The crash is still under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
