Pedestrian dies in Symmes Township crash

SYMMES TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in Symmes Township.

The crash happened at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday in the 9200 block of Fields Ertel Road.

Hamilton County investigators said 24-year-old Victor Pickett, of Cincinnati, was heading east on Field Ertel Road approaching the Waterstone Boulevard intersection when he came up on a pedestrian.

Deputies said 62-year-old Maheshchandra Trivedi, of Branchburg, N.J., ran across the roadway from north to south and was hit by Pickett’s car.

A medical helicopter was called out but Trivedi died by the time it arrived.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash. Pickett was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit is still investigating.

No other details have been released.
