SYCAMORE TWP., Ohio — A Kentucky man died Thursday night after a motorcycle crash near Sycamore Township, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcyclist, Thomas Karnes, 49, of Sparta, Kentucky, was driving eastbound on Plainfield Road when he collided with a car that had been heading west.

The driver of the car had attempted to turn left onto a private drive in front of Karnes’ motorcycle, and Karnes was unable to stop in time.

The impact of the two vehicles threw Karnes, who was not wearing a helmet, from his motorcycle, and he sustained serious injuries. The Sycamore Township Fire Department transported Karnes to Jewish Hospital, where he died, according to authorities.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
