SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio – A fire at an auto body shop sent the owner to the hospital in critical condition and left the building a total loss Thursday morning, according to the township fire chief.
The man suffered serious burns before his wife pulled him from the fire at K&K&Son Auto Body, 2264 Wilson Ave., Chief Robert Leininger said.
The owner was working on a car when something caused it to catch fire, Leininger said. The flames then spread to other cars and the building.
Damage was estimated at $100,000.
A firefighter was treated at the scene after rolling his ankle.
