NORWOOD, Ohio – A Clermont County man was arrested Thursday in connection with the kidnapping of an 88-year-old woman over the weekend.

Ernie Worley, 48, of Miami Township, was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center on charges of robbery and abduction.

According to police, the victim got breakfast Sunday at McDonald’s on Montgomery Road and just opened the door to get back in her car when a man pushed into the car with her, telling her that if she didn’t give him a ride, he would harm her.

She said she was terrified when it happened and was still shaken Thursday.

The man had the victim drive about a mile to an apartment building parking lot, Norwood police said. He said he was sick and needed money. Then he went through her purse and stole $6 – all the cash she had – and took off with her car, according to Norwood police.

The victim walked to a nearby Graeter’s and asked for help. Norwood police brought the woman home.

Though Worley has been arrested, Norwood police said they've still not located the woman's car. Police asked that anyone with information call 513-458-4540.
