NORWOOD, Ohio – Police arrested an armed man after a four-hour standoff Thursday night.

Norwood police initially responded to a 911 call from the 4900 block of Pine Street. During the call, a man could be heard in the background threatening to “shoot everyone,” police said.

When police arrived, two family members who had been outside ran back in, but another family member informed them that 27-year-old Ryan Brehm was inside, acting violent and potentially armed with weapons including an assault rifle, police said.

Police were unsuccessful contacting Brehm, and officers requested the Hamilton County Police Association SWAT respond.

Once the SWAT arrived, it took about three hours for negotiators to convince Brehm to surrender, police said..

Inside the home, officers recovered a shotgun, handgun and an AK-47-style assault rifle, police said.

Brehm was charged with domestic violence and inducing panic.
