NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio -- Police charged five North College Hill High students after a fight broke out on campus earlier this week.

The fight started when two students exchanged words. It quickly escalated and more students got involved.

Police broke up the physical fight, but the dispute continued via threats made on social media.

It was an unusually large altercation, according to Superintendent Gary Gellert.

“This one was a little more serious and spilled over into the community,” he said. “A lot of times, kids will have a conflict, kids will have a fight, and it ends, but this just didn't end."

The school added extra people to their security team in response.

“When there are threats or rumors of violence of any kind, then we’re going to investigate and get to the bottom of it … Student and staff safety is our number one priority,” Gellert said.
