MOUNT HEALTHY, Ohio -- Mount Healthy police said Thursday they were searching for a 17-year-old who they believe is armed and dangerous.

The suspect, as well as another 17-year-old, pulled up to a family home on Harrison Avenue Sept. 8 and argued with a 13-year-old resident, according to authorities. The pair were rebuffed, but as they drove away, the suspect fired two shots into the house.

Angelica Edwards never believed her family would be in danger.

“He came over here and tried to fight my son,” said Edwards, who lives on Harrison Avenue with her three children. “My son was like, ‘Get back in the house.”

Edwards said her son shepherded his two younger sisters inside and told the suspect to leave, but as the car sped off, the suspect fired two parting shots. One bullet hit just above Edwards’ youngest daughter’s crib.

“This kid is a loose cannon running around with a gun,” Edwards said. “He can do this to anybody.”

The teen who drove the car has since been arrested, but the other -- the one who fired the shots, according to police -- is on the run.

“You just never know,” said Sgt. Nick Michael. “When you are home, you have nowhere to retreat to, and that should be the place you feel safest. When shots are being fired into your house, how can you feel safe?”

The 17-year-old on the run is known to spend time in Colerain Township near Invicta Circle, according to authorities.

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s whereabouts should call Crimestoppers at (513) 352-3040.
