INDIAN HILL, Ohio — Crews spent Tuesday searching without success for 19-year-old Alex Cedillo, a missing man whom authorities believe could be in danger. According to police, Cedillo was last spotted Monday morning near Given Road in Indian Hill.

Authorities will continue their search at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

He has no history of mental illness, medical problems or past disappearances — which is part of the reason authorities are so concerned, Madeira police Chief David Schaefer said Tuesday night.

“We’re baffled by it just like the family is,” he said. “There was nothing out of the ordinary with his behavior, with what was going on in school, with his friends or his girlfriend. Everything seemed to be fine.”

Then he didn’t show up for work Monday. He didn’t appear at home after his shift was scheduled to end.

A family member discovered his car parked off Given Road near the entrance to a Whitacre Park hiking trail. Police followed the trail but did not find him, Schaefer said.

“We were hoping with the amount of people we had out here today we’d be able to complete our search and hopefully have some good news,” he said.

The search resumed Wednesday. People not involved in the effort to find Cedillo should avoid the area, Schaefer said, and anyone with information about his location should call 911.
