CINCINNATI — Paul Sohi, chief of staff to Hamilton County Commissioner Stephanie Summerow Dumas, alleged in a complaint to the Ohio Civil Rights Commission that two commissioners and their employees had harassed him due to his Indian ethnicity.

Sohi began working for Dumas in January and filed the complaint Feb. 4, claiming he had been the victim of a hostile work environment, repeated verbal abuse and at least one instance of physical harassment from other workers.

At one point, he wrote, “I was advised that being yelled and screamed at is part of the job, for which I stated I will not allow it.”

Sohi also claimed another commissioner told him he did not understand Hamilton County’s culture because he hadn’t grown up in the area.

None of the three commissioners had responded to WCPO’s requests for comment Tuesday night.
