MIAMI -- A Forest Park, Ohio, man has a family he never knew about, all because of a Facebook connection.
Marion McDowell in Miami reached out to Randall Vandivier of Forest Park on Facebook after noticing he was friends with an old friend of hers. A picture of Vandivier with his aunt raised more questions.
Vandivier believed his father served in World War II and then died in Miami 50 years ago. But other questions came up.
"We exchanged pictures of our father and we were shocked," McDowell said. "It was the same man."
Vandivier said one of his relatives in Miami sent him pictures of his dad he'd never seen.
"He was in uniform and I said, 'Yeah, that's our dad right there,'" he said.
The two brothers and four sisters have some catching up to do. Now they're wondering if they have any more siblings out there.
