'Houston: I Have A Problem' helps neighbors remove rotting tree in Delhi

DELHI TOWNSHIP, Ohio – “Houston, I Have A Problem” just solved a problem for a Delhi man and his neighbors.

Tom Schulte has lived in the area for more than 25 years and had seen a problem getting worse and worse. They said a dead tree and its limbs posed a danger for people in the area.

 “It was a dangerous situation,” Schulte said. “You could see the base of the tree was rotting out and it was getting worse and worse."

Schulte said it was only a matter of time before a rotting, leaning tree hurt someone or damaged property.

"I was concerned about people walking under it,” he said. “And there are kids from the Delhi Middle School who walk under i he and his neighbor have been dealing with this issue since last year.

Schulte said he talked to a tree company and was quoted about $10,000. With nowhere to go, Schulte turned to “Houston, I’ve Got A Problem.”

We got involved Wednesday and the next day workers removed the tree.

“I’m relieved,” Schulte said. “Like I said, there's a lot of people that walk their dog or you know parents with strollers walk under that tree. and it was looking worse and worse daily. "
