COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Police identified their suspect in a car break-in thanks to a DNA test.
Someone broke into a woman's vehicle Sept. 2 in Colerain Township and stole a purse and a pair of shoes, police said in court records. But the person also left behind a plastic bag that didn't belong to the victim.
Investigators ran a DNA sample from the bag through the Combined DNA Index System and got a hit: 27-year-old Allen Warren of Cincinnati, according to court records.
Police arrested Warren Wednesday. He was charged with theft.
Warren was due to appear in court for arraignment Thursday.
