COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Colerain Township authorities said Tuesday night they were closing in on a person who briefly abducted a 7-year-old boy on Banning Road and jumped out of a moving car with the child still inside.

When Ryan Rose, 24, abandoned the vehicle, an officer stepped it to put it in park and secure the child, police said. The child was unharmed.

According to Colerain Police public information officer Jim Love, the incident began on the road with a dispute between Rose and a woman believed to be the child’s mother. The woman stepped out of the car after an argument, at which point Rose fled with the child in the back seat.

Rose has not been apprehended. Authorities ask anyone who has seen him to call Colerain PD.
