COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A man was taken into custody Sunday after a multi-hour standoff in Colerain Township that started when a teen was shot in the foot.

Police, including SWAT units, responded to an apartment complex after someone shot a 15-year-old girl in the foot and one other person Sunday afternoon.

The shooting occurred in the 2300 block of Walden Glen Circle just before 4:30 p.m., according to police. At least one of the victims was driven to Mercy Fairfield Hospital for treatment.

About an hour later, several more shots were fired. Police evacuated the nearby Ashley Woods apartment complex and were searching for the shooter.

Police said they received multiple calls about shootings, a burglary and calls from the hospital which they said may be related, but were still investigating.

SWAT units arrived and took several hours to set up, acting with caution. By about 7:30 p.m., police were negotiating with a man and woman holed up in an apartment using a bullhorn.

Police at one point told the suspects, "Come out the front door with nothing in your hands," but the standoff continued for hours.

Police took a man and woman into custody around 9:30 p.m. The woman was holding a baby. The identities of the man and woman have not been released.
