CINCINNATI  -  The 42nd WEBN fireworks show went off with a bang on the Ohio River Sunday night.

There were clear skies and no rainclouds in sight for the big show that has been attracting a half million people to the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky riverfronts for decades.

The people who came downtown for the all-day Riverfest celebration on the Cincinnati side or just to watch the fireworks went home happy.

“It's real lovely when all the community comes out, all the neighborhoods,” said Terrell Whitney. “Everybody hangs out and got their lawn chairs out ... the coolers. It's a beautiful thing.”

“It's really cool to watch because seeing our city just lights up and how everyone just comes together," said Karly Smith. "The show is always beautiful and it goes really well with the music, and it's just great.”
