CINCINNATI — A 16-year-old boy died Sunday from injuries he suffered when he was hit by a car more than a week earlier.

The Hamilton County Coroner's Office identified the teen as Mamaudou Sylla of Columbus.

Mamaudou was crossing Harrison Avenue at about 3:05 p.m. March 23 when a 22-year-old driver headed northbound in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata struck him, according to police.

Firefighters drove Mamaudou to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. Police said he died Sunday afternoon.

The driver was not injured. Police said they don't believe excessive speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

Police asked any witnesses to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
