Reds Love: Army specialist proposes to girlfriend at game

Posted

CINCINNATI -- While the Reds took home a win against the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday night, one U.S. Army veteran took home a fiancée.

Love was in the air at Great American Ball Park, as U.S. Army Spc. Will Parker proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Julianne. He proposed to her after being saluted as a "Reds Hometown Hero" for his service.

His girlfriend, in tears, accepted the proposal.

According to the salute, Parker served in the army for six years. He took a tour in Baquba, Iraq in 2008 and another overseas tour in Kandahar, Afghanistan, where he lost his leg in battle.
