CINCINNATI -- It was move-in day at the University of Cincinnati Wednesday, and students got some help they weren't expecting.

Police officers came to help out with the move as students loaded their bags, boxes and handtrucks full of stuff into the dorms.

"It's a good opportunity for the new students to meet and greet officers," UCPD Chief Anthony Carter said. "It's an opportunity for the officers to see the new students."

Carter said he wanted the officers to be seen as a resource.

"We want to be active and engaged with as many of the functions, events that occur on campus as possible," he said.
