NORWOOD – A Rookwood Commons salon has received a six-figure fix-up, and WCPO.com got a sneak peak before it reopened to the public Monday.
Pump Salon, a sister store to Mitchell's, a five-location Tri-State chain, closed for two weeks while the renovations took place. The "refresh" means new paint, which officials say creates a classic, sleek look, a new reception area and new equipment. The upgrades topped $100,000.
Staff, including 18 stylists, moved back in Sunday evening. Pump welcomed back its first customers at 9 a.m. Monday.
"We've been open at this location for 15 years, so it was time," Logan Schmidt, vice president of marketing, said. "Besides just natural wear and tear, we hadn't changed anything. The new design has a lot of neutral hues, a cleaner look. This was also a chance to get some new stuff in there and give it the modern feel it deserves."
Pump, which offers hair care services only, caters largely to the young professional. It's located at 2739 Edmondson Road, in between Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Yagoot.
