CINCINNATI -- A St. Xavier High School alum is hoping to take home an Oscar at the 89th Academy Awards Sunday.

Patrick Osborne is nominated for an Oscar for his animated short, “Pearl,” a unique Google 360 experience set entirely in a car.

Have a look at "Pearl" in the player below.

Osborne is no stranger to the Oscars; he took one home two years ago for his animated short “Feast.”

“It's amazing to get nominated once,” Osborne said. “I never thought I would -- to have a chance to go to that party again a few years later is crazy and amazing, so who knows?”

But will he win?

Well, he’s not entirely sure.

“The shorts categories are very volatile,” Osborne said. “They're really hard to predict, so you don't really know.”

Another local, Adrian Belew, of Covington, is getting recognized at this year’s Academy Awards for his music, which is featured in Pixar’s animated short, “Piper.”
