CINCINNATI — A park on Erie Avenue in Hyde Park was named for slain Cincinnati Officer Sonny Kim Tuesday afternoon.
Police Officer Sonny Kim Park is located down the street from the District 2 police headquarters, where Kim had been assigned.
He was killed in the line of duty in June 2015.
"I think for the Kim family, they were so touched," Councilwoman Amy Murray said. "I mean to have a memorial place for their husband, dad to come. I think it's always bittersweet. They're honored but so sad for the reason."
The city officially unveiled the park in a private ceremony for Kim's family and friends.
